Hopkinton Network Group meets Fri - Mar 18th at 10:00 AM

Hello Everyone,

Now that the winter is upon us, and the inclement weather has arrived, there will be no Hopkinton meetings if the Hopkinton schools close due to weather conditions. Listen to the radio or watch the TV for school closings, if there is a delay, the meeting will still occur. Whenever the weather conditions are poor, please stay home. There isn't anything worth risking an accident over.

The agenda for this Friday's Hopkinton Networkers Group (HNG) meeting will be featured by our speaker, Fran Ganek. The facilitator for this week will be Madeliene Moore. We will devote the first hour, from 10 to 11 AM to the following agenda: Welcome, Landings, Announcements, New Member Intros, and Needs & Leads. Please arrive early, so we can make every effort to start on time. In the second hour, Fran will give a talk about "Refreshing the Body, Mind, and Soul during Unemployment (and any other Time)"

"Refreshing the Body, Mind, and Soul during Unemployment (and any other Time)"

In this experiential presentation, Fran will offer attendees an opportunity to empower themselves through wellness and stress reduction activities. This will be followed by a special demonstration to assist attendees with employment and related questions/concerns.

Fran will begin by sharing a brief excerpt from the book, Peace is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life, by Thich Nhat Hanh. Through this excerpt, Fran will facilitate a very simple exercise for conscious breathing that can bring an awareness to the calming and unifying effects of body and mind. Next, she will lead a guided meditation (approximately ten minutes in length) to help attendees ground and center the body, from Belleruth Naparstek's book, Staying Well with Guided Imagery: How to Harness the Power of your Imagination for Health and Healing. Following the meditation, since Fran has assisted many people who have experienced crises and losses as a counselor, clairvoyant, and medium, she will take a few minutes to enter into a meditative state, and will then offer messages through a question and response format, as time permits, on employment and related concerns. (Please bring a concisely-posed question if you wish to ask her a question during this allotted time.)

Fran's mission is not to predict the future, nor does she claim to do so, however through this work, she often brings spiritual guidance, inspiration, validation, healing energy, and sometimes enlightenment dotted with humor as she relays her visions and messages. Prior to responding to questions, Fran will give a brief explanation of what to expect during this time.

About Fran Ganek:

Fran is a former teacher of preschool through post-secondary levels, with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary and Special Education. General Information:

The networking group meets in Hopkinton, at St. John the Evangelist Church parish hall. The meeting occurs, from 10 to 12 noon, and will meet the first and third Friday of the month. The parish hall has a capacity for 250 people and there is plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot and on the street. Around the perimeter of the parish hall are rooms to allow us to have focused network groups or for any other purpose we need. We chose every other Friday to allow everyone to attend the Acton Networking Group or any other networking group, if they wanted, on the Friday we do not meet.

We will maintain our close affiliation with Acton Networkers by using the same list-server to share information between the groups. Any e-mails specific to the Hopkinton Networking Group (HNG) will be indicated in the subject line either by "Hopkinton Networking Group" or "HNG"; this way anyone attending these meetings will know the e-mail is intended for them.

We will follow the following agenda items:
Welcome
Landings (with doughnuts)
Announcements
New member introductions
Needs and Leads
Speaker(s), Workshop, or Focus Group
Cleanup

For those new members who give their introductions, this is what we would like to know:

Skills and Value Statement
Where have you been?
Where are you going?
Your title
Your target companies
Geography of search

If anyone wants to join our team, please let one of us know; we could always use the extra help and input for ideas.
